From eBay: This is DAVE WECKLS’ personal Yamaha Recording Custom natural drum set. This Recording Custom, natural wood finish kit was what Dave used to record in the eighties and early nineties. Dave also played it live on the ‘Simon and Garfunkel’ reunion tour in the summer of 1983. See some pics from that tour below! This kit was used on the very first studio recording of the ‘Chick Corea Akoustic Band’ in 1988, and many other recordings in NYC in the late 80’s early 90’s, Including all early Michel Camilo recordings.

I remember what a freak-out it was to see those 8"&10" toms at that time.  Gadd's 10"&12"s seemed tiny, but this was laughable...until you heard the guy play.  Next thing you knew, 12"&13" toms started trending on the large side.  This kit really is an historical link in the evolution of the drumset.  Thanks for the post.
